SPEAKERS

Dr Jabulile Msimango-Galawe

Dr Jabulile is the program director of the masters in business and executive coaching at Wits Business School, and the Founder and Managing Director of DrJ Business Support (Pty) Ltd. DrJ has been in the business space for more than 20 years, and is a practising business and executive coach, registered and serving with COMENSA (Coaches and Mentors of South Africa) as a Research Portfolio committee member. She is a board member at GSAEC (Graduate School Alliance for Education in Coaching) and serving in their Research Committee as well. DrJ is also a member of the digital coaching platform, CoachHub, and currently serving on their Research Council.

Dr Jabulile is an active contributor and thought leader on topics that relate to business and executive coaching, entrepreneurial coaching, and enterprise development. She holds advanced qualifications from WITS Business School and the University of the Free State.

DrJ has been mentoring entrepreneurs and coaching professionals and executives for more than 5 years. She is currently pursuing her Master of Management by research, focusing on the role of coaching in the development of female leaders.

Mr Jerry Mayaba

Jerry obtained the degrees B.Soc.Sci and LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from the University of Cape Town. He further obtained an LLM (Master of Laws) in International Economic Business Law (IEBL) from Kyushu University in Japan. While serving his articles, his interest in litigation was harnessed. He served as Chairperson of Professional Conduct Inquiries for the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) where he was exposed to medical malpractice litigation.

Jerry joined MacRobert Incorporated in 2016 as a Director. In his current practice, he specializes in Professional Indemnity and has vast experience in handling both claims and complaints of unprofessional conduct against health care practitioners, including Dentists. Jerry handles a lot of matters on behalf of dentists and related specialists on the instruction of the Dental Protection Society, as well as in their private capacity.

His experience with the HPCSA’s processes has stood him in good stead in handling complaints against Dentists over the years. Jerry regularly presents on regulatory matters in conferences and seminars. He also presents to 4th, 5th and final year medical students at the University of Pretoria and has also made podcasts for the students on different topics on ethics and regulations. Jerry is passionate about professional indemnity law and particularly defending the practitioners when faced with such matters.

Dr Idah Mmutlana

Idah Mmutlana received her B Ch. D Degree at the University of Western Cape in 2001. Her love for academia developed when she joined University of Limpopo (Medunsa) in 2003 as Dentist and Lecturer in the Stomatological Studies Department. There she acquired her Master of Dental Science in 2010. During this time she fulfilled her clinical duties in the Prosthodontics Department and her passion for Prosthodontics was birthed.

In 2012, She pursued and acquired her Master of Dentistry specialising in Prosthodontics at the University of Witwatersrand in 2017. She continued as a periodical appointee in the department throughout 2017 and joined the Department full time as a specialist and Lecturer in 2018 until 2021 January. She came full circle at all four dental schools in the country when she joined the Department of Prosthodontics at University of Pretoria in 2021 February in the same capacity and continues to fulfil her role supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students.

She performs part time private practice work at Nice Smile Dentists in Fourways, Johannesburg. She is a member of the Academy of Prosthodontics South Africa, the Future Leaders in Prosthodontics Academy and the International College of Prosthodontics. In her downtime enjoys reading, cooking, music, swimming, camping and has recently enjoyed collecting black owned wines.
